Assoc. Prof. Dr.
Syed Zainol Abidin Idid, Ph.D , MMIP Patron and Advisor
Dr. Syed Zainol Abidin Idid is an associate professor of urban
planning in the faculty of built environment, University Technology
Malaysia. He provides valuable advice and guidance to all members
of Prihatin Malaysia in designing and implementing creative community
based ICT projects. He is a prolific writer and has contributed
greatly in promoting sustainable human settlement.
Mahalingam
Chelliah, B. Sc (Hons), MMIP Program Manager
After a short stint in an architectural firm as a town planner,
Mahalingam Chelliah started his own information and communications
technologies firm ; Northern Technologies - offering specialized
services for architectural and engineering sector. He is one of
the founding members of Prihatin Malaysia. His conviction is strongly
rooted in the belief that ICT is not the monopoly of the rich
but could be applied to day-to-day activities of ordinarily folks.
He plans and manages various ICT based project of Prihatin Malaysia.
At present, he is the Program Manager for E-Industri Desa project
; a project funded by Ministry of Women, Family and Community
Development Malaysia www.banghuris.net to nurture rural micro
enterprises into a modern, ICT based , self-sustaining economic
model.
Ramanitharan Rajaram, B.A
(Economics) Deputy Program Manager
Ramanitharan Rajaram holds an Economics Degree from Malaysian
National University. He has extensive working experience working
for Seagate Malaysia, Jabil Global Services USA and Mexico. In
Prihatin Malaysia, Ramanitharan is in charge of community empowerment
trainings and managing the gradual transition of the target communities
into a knowledge-based society.
Vivegananthan Rajangam,
B.Sc (Electrical Eng.) USA Project Coordinator
Vivegananthan Rajangam holds a B.Sc. Electrical Engineering from
South Dakota State University, USA. He has worked for Intel Corporation
in the U.S, Malaysia, Philippines and Costa Rica. He is in charge
of overall coordination of different segments of the project.
At present, he is the project coordinator for a community empowerment
project for single mothers and under privileged youth.
Gunalan Muniandy,
B.Eng (Hons) Research Analyst for Content Development
Gunalan Muniandy is currently the Research Analyst for Prihatin
Malaysia. He analyzes problems, conceptualizes and defines solutions
to problems. He holds a B.Eng (Material) from Malaysian University
of Science. Has worked for many years in research and audit firms.
Muthukrishnan Supprayan,
Senior Writer / Web Administrator
Muthukrishnan Supprayan is a retired Tamil school teacher with
a strong attachment to Tamil education. An excellent writer and
orator who have received national awards from Tamil Writers; Association
of Malaysia. He initiated Tamil program transmissions from Radio
Japan, Radio Australia and Deutche Welle in 1970's.
Hemant Raghavenrda Rao,
B.Eng (Hons) Consultant (Software Development)
Hemant Raghavendra Rao is our international volunteer consultant
for software development. He is currently holding a senior position
in Satyam Computers International.
