PERTUBUHAN PRIHATIN SOSIAL MALAYSIA
Pertubuhan Prihatin Sosial Malaysia (Prihatin Malaysia) is a non-profitable organization that was formed to improve the social conditions of underprivileged communities in Malaysia. The organization implements projects to raise the living standards of disadvantaged communities by enabling them to use ICT tools for both economic and social advancements.

Prihatin Malaysia was formed by a group of young Malaysian ICT professionals who were determined to

improve the social conditions of underprivileged communities, especially youths and women. Our work is rooted in the conviction that information and communication technologies are indispensable elements of effective institutions and societies and that, empowering people and the institutions with efficient and effective ICT tools is a critical element in the fight against poverty.

Prihatin Malaysia collaborates with private and public partners to carry out highly relevant, ICT based projects for the targeted groups. Since our inception, Prihatin Malaysia has implemented programs that utilize information and communications technology (ICT) to meet a wide range of challenges in Malaysia.

Our partners include Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia, Ministry of Internal Security of Malaysia, Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation Malaysia, Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development Malaysia, State Governments of Penang & Perak, Samsung South East Asia & Oceania, Samsung Malaysia Electronics, Cisco System Malaysia and others.

We are currently embarking a nationwide initiative called ‘E-Bimbing’ to empower and equip young prisoners in ICT skills as to enable them to earn a living once they are released.

Prihatin Malaysia won the prestigious Samsung Digital Hope Award for the year 2005 and 2006.
